THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE DEGREE OF DYSMENORRHEA WITH THE LEARNING ACTIVITIES OF CLASS XI STUDENTS OF

Abstract


Dysmenorrhea is a menstrual disorder in the form of pain accompanied by cramps centered in the lower abdomen andaccompanied by lower back pain, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and diarrhea. Dysmenorrhea occurs due to increased secretion of the hormone prostaglandin resulting in uterine contractions. The higher the levels of prostaglandin the stronger the contractions will be, so the pain felt is also stronger. On the first day of menstruation, the prostaglandin levels are very high, on the second and subsequent days the lining of the uterine wall begins to fall off and the prostaglandin levels decrease so that the pain decreases as the prostaglandin levels decrease. To determine the relationship between the degree of dysmenorrhoea and the learning activities of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Donggo. This research is a descriptiveanalytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses stratified random sampling. The statistical test used is the non-parametric Spearman Rank test. The samples taken in this study were 52 female students from each class XI, meaning that 52 people were taken from class XI using total sampling techniques. The data collection techniques used in quantitative research were questionnaires and interviews regarding the relationship between the degree of dysmenorrhoea and the learning activities of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Donggo. There is no relationship between the degree of dysmenorrhoea and the learning activities of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Donggo, namely with a p-value of 0.213 (>0.05).
