Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) type II is diabetes that appears in adulthood and has a proportion of 80% of diabetes mellitus overall. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between random blood glucose levels during the MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure). Method: This study used analytic observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The research instrument used questionnaires and observation sheets, for the assessment of random blood glucose levels when using a glucose test and for measuring Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) using a digital tensimeter. Result: The results of this study found that from 63 respondents who had random blood glucose levels in type II diabetes sufferers in Tegalsari, Candisari District, Semarang City 31 respondents (49.3%) had normal random blood glucose levels. Meanwhile, the majority of the Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) of type II diabetes mellitus patients had MAP values >100 mmHg as many as 33 people (52.4%). The results of the Spearman Rank test showed a value of p = 0.012, then a value of p = 0.012 <0.05, so between variables there was a significant correlation between random blood glucose levels and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in type II diabetics. Conclusion: There is a relationship between random blood glucose levels and Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in the Tegalsari, Candisari District, Semarang City with a value of p = 0.012 and a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.398.
